Bio

Jeff Steele is a noted film finance expert in all matters of debt and equity, but also has a significant portfolio of hands-on producing credits.

Currently, Jeff is the CFO for Los Angeles based Magnet Media Group (MMG), an equity finance, production, and distribution company. Jeff also manages his own consulting firm Film Closings, Inc.

Prior to handling the film closings at MMG, Jeff  worked as a director of film finance for Screen Capital International, a leading entertainment financier and founding shareholder of Aramid Entertainment, where he focused on gap, pre-sale, tax credit, and bridge funding.

On the producing side, Jeff was a partner at Plinyminor, a production company, where they produced Sony Classics “Who Killed the Electric Car?” and the feature film “Mammoth” for NBC Universal’s Sci Fi Channel.

Jeff got his start in Los Angeles, working for the likes of Tom Freston, Mike Medavoy, Arnold Messer, and Linda Obst to name a few. He is a frequent panelist for film financing forums and he’s known for telling audiences what they need to know, but don’t want to hear.
